What are the possible causes of epilepsy?
There are a significant number of factors that contribute to epilepsy. An important role played by hereditary predisposition. The most common mistake in the treatment of epilepsy is to take a low, not having the necessary therapeutic effect dose of anticonvulsant drugs. This creates the false impression that the drug is ineffective, and the epilepsy treatment process is delayed. The dose of the drug is calculated by the doctor individually for each patient and each drug, and then the frequency of taking the drug is determined.
Are anticonvulsants safe?
It is important to remember that anticonvulsants, like many other drugs, have undesirable (adverse) effects. Adverse reactions can be immediate (immediately after taking a particular drug), dose-dependent (dose-related) and chronic (when taking the drug for a long time).
